Library by Mail Service
Library by Mail Service provides residents of the Charlevoix Public Library service area who are either temporarily or permanently homebound library materials via the United States Postal Service.
Who is Eligible?
Charlevoix Public Library patrons who are either temporarily or permanently homebound and reside within our service area. Individuals who live outside of the service area are not eligible.
How Do I Apply?
- Print and fill out the Library By Mail Application found here and mail it to:

or
- Call 231.547.2651 and a staff member can help you fill it out.
What Can I Borrow?
You can request up to four items per delivery including books, audiobooks on cd, Music CDs, or DVDs.
How Do I Request Materials?
Place books on hold by using your library card number and PIN either on our website or through our Pac2 app. Or, call the information services desk at 231.547.2651 and ask staff to pick out books for you.
How Long Can I Keep Items Mailed to Me?
Items are loaned for 4 weeks and may be renewed if there isn’t another patron waiting for that item.
How Do I Return Materials?
Place your items in the bag, zip it closed, remove the address label from the clear pocket of the mailer bag, flip it over so the library address and postage is facing out, and leave the bag wherever your mail is collected. The postage is prepaid.
What if My Materials Are Late?
We do not charge a per day late fee, but we will contact you to let you know that your materials are overdue.
What if I Lose or Damage my Items?
The library will bill you for lost or damaged items based upon the price paid for the item plus a $5 processing fee.
